How to plan a second date
Date one went well. Good. Date two is where you stop being "a guy from the app" and start being someone she's actually excited to see. Here's how to plan it.
Ask soon
Within a day or two of the first date. Ideally in the text you send that night, or the next morning. The good feeling fades if you leave it a week.
Change the setting
If date one was drinks, make date two something you do. Mini golf, a cooking class, a market, a walk somewhere pretty with food at the end. Doing something together side by side is more relaxed, and it gives you a shared story.
Call back to date one
She mentioned she's never had good ramen? Take her for ramen. She talked about missing the beach? Sunset walk. Building date two from something she said is the most romantic thing you can do, and it costs nothing.
Keep it a bit longer, not a lot longer
Two to three hours is a good target. Long enough to get comfortable, short enough to leave wanting more. Have a loose "after" option, a dessert spot or a second bar, if it's going great.
Ideas that work
- Ramen, tacos or a food hall, then a walk.
- Mini golf, bowling, or a barcade.
- A farmers market on a weekend morning.
- A trivia night, as a team of two.
- A cheap cooking class.
Texts you can send
you said youve never had good ramen. i cant let that stand. saturday?
second date proposal. mini golf, loser buys tacos. thursday at 7
had a great time tonight. id love to see you again this weekend
still on for tomorrow? im ready to destroy you at skeeball
A woman's read
The second date ask is when a woman decides if you're actually interested or just being nice. A guy who remembers what she said on date one and builds the plan around it? That stays with her. It says he listened, and he's thinking about her when she's not there. That's what makes her look forward to date three.
The move
Text her within a day of date one with a specific plan built around something she told you. Name the day and the time.
The vibe on date two
She's a little more relaxed, and you should be too. Sit next to her if the place allows it. Touch her arm when you laugh. Ask the follow up questions to stuff she told you last time. And if you liked her, tell her. "I've been looking forward to this" is a good opener. For more ideas, steal from first date ideas that aren't boring, and check how to know if a date went well after.

Something you do together, like mini golf, a food market or a cooking class, ideally tied to something she mentioned.
How long should a second date be?
Two to three hours is a good target, with an optional extra stop if it is going well.
Should I kiss her on the second date?
