How to know if a date went well
You're home, you're replaying everything, and you can't tell if she was into it or just being nice. I've watched a lot of dates from behind the bar. Here's what I look for.
Good signs
- Time flew. You looked up and it was two hours later. Or she suggested another drink or another stop.
- She asked about you. Real questions, follow ups, not just answering yours.
- She was physically easy around you. Leaning in, facing you, touching your arm, sitting close.
- She laughed at the dumb stuff. Not polite laughs. The real ones.
- She talked about the future. "You have to try this place" or "next time" or "I'll send you that song."
- The goodbye was slow. A long hug, a kiss, lingering by the car.
Less good signs
- She checked her phone a lot.
- She ended it early with a vague reason.
- Short answers and no questions back.
- A quick side hug and a fast exit.
None of these is proof by itself. Nervous people do weird stuff. Look at the whole picture.
The real test is the text
Text her that night. Something warm and specific, and say you'd like to see her again. How she answers will tell you more than anything that happened at the table.
Texts you can send
made it home. i had a really good time with you tonight
id love to do that again. you free saturday?
had fun tonight. i think you won the argument about the best movie, ill admit it
A woman's read
Here's the honest part. When a woman had a good time, she usually makes it pretty easy to tell. She replies fast, she's warm, she says yes to date two or offers another day. When she didn't, she gets polite and vague. "Yeah it was nice!" with no follow up. Don't decode it forever. Ask her out once, clearly, and her answer is your answer.
The move
Text her tonight with one warm, specific line, plus a clear ask for date two. Let her reply tell you how it went.
If you're still not sure
Ask her out again. Clearly, with a day. A woman who had a good time will say yes or suggest another day. A woman who didn't will usually be vague. Either way you'll know, and you'll stop guessing. Here's what to text after a first date and how to plan a second date.
Questions guys ask
How do I know if she enjoyed the date?
Time flew, she asked about you, she was physically relaxed and close, and she mentioned doing things together in the future.
What are signs a first date went badly?
Lots of phone checking, ending early with a vague reason, short answers and a fast goodbye. One sign alone is not proof.
Should I text her after the date if I am not sure?
Yes. A warm text plus an ask for date two gives you a clear answer.
What if she says she had fun but will not plan date two?
Ask once with a specific day. If she stays vague, take it as a polite no and move on kindly.
