How to be more confident with women

Here's what I tell every guy I train. Confidence isn't something you have or don't have. It's something you build, the same way you build a squat. Small reps, done often, until it stops feeling hard. Nobody walks into the gym and deadlifts 400. Nobody walks into a bar feeling bulletproof either.

Confidence comes from keeping promises to yourself

The guys who seem confident usually aren't faking it. They've just got a track record. They said they'd work out and they did. They said they'd talk to someone and they did. Each kept promise is evidence. Start with tiny ones you can't fail at.

Fix the body stuff first

It's the fastest win. Sleep enough. Move every day. Stand up straight. A guy who slept seven hours and walked this morning carries himself differently than a guy running on four hours and energy drinks. Women notice the posture before they notice anything you say. If you're starting from zero, here's how to start working out when you hate the gym.

Do social reps, low stakes

You don't build confidence with women by only talking to women you're into. Talk to everyone. The barista, the guy next to you at the game, the woman in line at the store. Make one small comment a day. It's the warm up set. When it matters, you've done it a hundred times.

Stop needing it to go well

Confidence isn't expecting her to say yes. It's being okay if she doesn't. Go into a conversation to enjoy it, not to win it. If it goes nowhere, you got a rep in. That's still a win.

Look like you tried

Clothes that fit and a fresh haircut do a lot of quiet work on how you feel walking in. Here's how to dress better for dates.

Texts you can send

A woman's read

Here's my honest read as a woman and a trainer. The confident guy isn't the one with the perfect line. He's the one who looks comfortable in his body, makes eye contact, and doesn't fall apart if a joke doesn't land. That comes from reps. The gym kind and the people kind. I see it all the time, a guy sticks with small habits for a couple of months and suddenly he walks into a room differently.

The move

This week, walk every day and make one small, friendly comment to a stranger every day. Write down both. That's your confidence workout.

What confidence is not

Being loud. Being cocky. Talking over people. Never admitting you're nervous. Real confidence is calm. It's being able to say "I'm a little nervous, you're really pretty" and laugh about it. That's actually charming. Ready to use it? Val has a guide on how to ask her out over text.

If you're dealing with anxiety that feels bigger than nerves, talking to a doctor or a licensed professional is a strong move, not a weak one.

Questions guys ask

How can I be more confident around women?

Build it with habits. Keep small promises to yourself, take care of your body, and practice easy social conversations every day.

Can you actually build confidence?

Yes. It grows from evidence. Every time you do something you said you would, or talk to someone and survive, you build it a little.

Does working out help with confidence?

For a lot of guys, yes. Better sleep, energy and posture change how you carry yourself, often before you see changes in the mirror.

What if I get really nervous talking to women?

Totally normal. Practice with low stakes conversations first, and it is fine to admit you are a little nervous. It can be charming.
